Mandarin Middle School PTSA

Get Involved: Join PTSA, Support Our Fundraisers, Volunteer (**see special volunteer opportunities below**), and Join Our Efforts to Advocate for Children and Education through Legislation

Join PTSA

PTSA is open to anyone interested in getting involved in supporting our public schools and our youth. Join MMS PTSA to show your support for your school! Even if you have no time to give or to volunteer, your membership helps PTSA provide vision and hearing screening for students, pay for newsletters, assist with school improvement projects, host TGIF dance for students, provide faculty and staff with appreciation luncheon, and provide an 8th grade party at the end of the year. These are just a few of the things that your MMS PTSA does for Mandarin Middle School. Please sign up today! Students will receive discounts at various events for joining MMS PTSA.

Membership costs only $5 a year for an adult and only $3 for a Mandarin Middle School student.  Click here for a membership form to print and then fill out, attach membership dues (additional donations welcomed), and return it to your or your student's teacher, any PTSA Board member, or the main office. Remember, you don't have to be a parent, a teacher, or a student to join us; grandparents, community members, and businesses, indeed, anyone who cares about our youth, are also welcome.

Support Fundraisers

It takes money to run the programs we provide and support, so please consider helping us raise that money by supporting our Fundraisers. As always, donations are also welcome, whether from individuals or businesses.  Financial donations, merchandise, or gift certificates are greatly needed for our very active program.  The PTSA is a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, thereby making contributions tax-deductible.

This year, your support not only has supported many programs and services to our students, school, and community but also is allowing us to replace about half the whiteboards in the classrooms as our end-of-year project.

Volunteer

Volunteers are an integral part of the success of our PTSA, our school, and, most importantly, our students.  Volunteer opportunities range from short-term, one-time activities to long-term commitments, and some can even be carried out from home, but whether you volunteer for a few minutes or for much more, the rewards are infinite.

All volunteers are required by the school district to fill out a volunteer application to be processed through the district (more information here).  Volunteer applications are available in the school office or from the district's website.  They can be submitted through the school office or mailed directly to the district office at the address located on the application form.

To find out more about volunteering at Mandarin Middle School, please contact our Vice President of Volunteers, Yvonne St. John, at volunteers@mandarinmiddleptsa.org.

**Special Volunteer Opportunities**

Mandarin Middle School will not be having orientation this year. Instead, students are invited to come in two weeks early to get done what normally gets done on the first day of school, such as pick up their ID, planner, team assignment, and books and buy their academic locker. (Teachers will not be present; parents can meet the teachers at Open House which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.) PARENTS OF 7TH GRADERS, PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW YOUR STUDENT'S SCHEDULED DATE!

The school is requesting help with these early preparations, and our PTSA will be organizing volunteers. Approximately 10 volunteers per shift are needed to help guide students through their preparations as listed above. The days and times listed below are the available shifts.
